On May 8-11, 2019, China Finance 40 Forum (CF40) and the Peterson Institute for International Economics (PIIE) carried out their annual exchange program in Beijing.
On May 11, the two think tanks held the 8th China-US Economists' Symposium, with a theme of "How to Effectively Manage China-U.S. Economic Relations". The Symposium consisted of sessions focusing on reform of global trade system and the economic and financing challenges facing China and the US.
During its stay in Beijing, the PIIE delegation also visited several policymaking and regulatory agencies, and financial institutions, including the People's Bank of China, the China Banking and Insurance Regulatory Commission, the Ministry of Finance, the State Administration of Foreign Exchange. They also met with high-level government officials to discussed critical issues facing the two countries.
